Small Business Toolbox – June Second

Each week I like to post useful tools and resources that you may be able to use for your business. The resources I post here are either free or available at a low cost.

I don’t go into much detail here, so feel free to check them out yourself and let me know what you think. If you know of any great tools and services that will help small business owners, please share them in the comments below.

Otixo - If you’re an avid user of cloud based services like me, you’ll love Otixo. Have all of your cloud based files all in one space. Otixo syncs with dozens of cloud services, allowing you to use a single sign in to manage everything. Copy files between services and collaborate with others. You get 2GB of bandwidth free a month with paid options if you need more than that.

Pic Monkey - Ever since Google bought, and subsequently closed down Picnik, I’ve been looking for a similar online image editing service that’s just as fun and easy to use. Luckilly, some of the folks from Picnik started a similar service called PicMonkey. It has a easy to use layout and makes simple image editing a snap. Hopefully they’ll come out with a Firefox and Chrome extension soon.

  1. Hey Gary,

I had the same experience with Picnik/PicMonkey - I loved Picnik & was devastated at the news that it was closing down but very relieved to have found PicMonkey which seems to work just as well, if not better!

thanks for sharing these (I’ll check out the other one),

    take care & best wishes,
    Alan

  2. Yes Alan, Picnik was one of my favorite Chrome extensions, made it really easy to select and edit images on the fly. I also use the Aviary extension, which is pretty good.
